(Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)Today is Election Day in the United States. The results of the midterm elections are critical for the next two years and beyond.Apparently, South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp didn’t realize this. In fact, Muschamp might not have even realized there was an election at all today.During his press conference this afternoon, Muschamp was asked how he talked to his team about voting. His response was interesting to say the least.Me to Will Muschamp: “How have you addressed voting with your team?”Muschamp: No responseMe: “You know there’s an election today?”Muschamp: “I do now. I’m getting ready for Florida.”— Josh Kendall (@JoshatTheState) November 6, 2018Sure, Muschamp probably has some tunnel vision for this game in particular given how personal it is to him as someone who was fired by Florida. But come on now, this is insane. He had to know there was an election, right? He just didn’t want to talk about it.I mean, there’s no reason for a fully-functioning adult in America, with all the information at his or her disposal, to not even know an election was taking place. Right?Additionally, Muschamp is supposed to be a “leader of men” right? You should at least discuss important matters like this with your team. Partisan politics is a no-no, but just telling your players how important voting is should be a given.
