first_imgNew LED lights will be introduced in Fort St. John.The city has announced it will be changing 2,000 streetlights over the next 5 years from High Pressure Sodium lights to LED lights, reducing energy and costs up to 60 per cent.The new standards were adopted into the Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw.- Advertisement -Any new city developments will be required to use LED lights as set out by the bylaw.The city has budgeted $300,000 a year over the next four years to pay to have the lights replaced.Future plans for the lights include being put at the new hospital site and the Enerplex parking lot.Advertisement LED lights have already been installed on the walking trail along 100th street.last_img
