first_imgBusinessman Boima Folley has called on Liberians to join the effort to provide material and financial support to the national soccer team, Lone Star, as it prepares for continental competitions.Folley is the chief executive officer of Boima Folley Sports Store, located near Buzzi Quarters in Monrovia.In an interview with the Daily Observer yesterday, Folley said Liberians must demonstrate their commitment to the national team as it prepares to take on its counterparts in the African Cup of Nations.“I am appealing to my fellow Liberians to give in cash or in kind as the team gets set for Africa,” Folley said.He said the only way Lone Star would achieve success and make Liberians proud is for “everyone to play their part in the team’s preparation.”Folley noted that since the end of Liberian civil war the national team has performed poorly, hurting Liberians’ pride in competitions involving its counterparts.Head coach James Debbah recently selected 26 players who are presently in camp, preparing for their encounters against Guinea and Togolese national teams.The Boima Folley Sports Store was established in 2003 and provides sporting goods to several clubs in the national soccer league of the Liberia Football Association.
