FRISCO, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Dominique Golightly is the Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.Golightly joined the 1,000-point club after a 22-point performance that pushed the Wildcats (6-1) to a 73-63 win at home against Tulsa this past Thursday. Golightly put down an efficient shooting mark, going 9-of-12 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range against the Golden Hurricane. She now stands with 1,009 career points.The award marks the first of Golightly’s career.Women’s Basketball Player of the Week – Dominique Golightly, Abilene Christian – Sr. – Guard – Chickasha, Okla.Golightly surpassed 1,000-career points Thursday night in Abilene Christian’s first-ever win over Tulsa, a 73-63 result at home. The ACU senior shot a staggering 75 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc to push the Wildcats to a 6-1 start.
